What do your trip prices include?

We now feature all-inclusive pricing – making it easier to save and plan for travel. Gone are the days of having a base price and then adding every little additional expense to the total cost.

Today, our trip packages include:

  • Travel staff for every three or four travelers
  • Accommodations
  • One bed for each traveler
  • All Attractions
  • Transportation and Ground Transfers
  • Luggage Fees
  • All Meals

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we are happy to work with you to create a plan that’s flexible and meets your needs. Once your trip deposit is made, we can set up easy monthly payments for as low as $100 per month. Contact us to learn more.

Where do your vacations originate from?

  • The check-in location depends on the type of vacation.
  • Vacations traveling by van originate from our metro check-in office in Plymouth, MN.
  • Vacations using flights originate from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International airport.
  • Rail vacations check-in at a hotel near the Amtrak station.

Information detailing where to meet our group and check-in procedures are included in the pre-trip itinerary that is sent out 2-3 weeks prior to the vacation. Arrangements can be made for travelers to meet our group along the natural route of the vacation. Travelers wishing to join a vacation from a different state or location should call our offices to coordinate the details. There are many options available.

Can I still register for a vacation after the deadline has passed?

If the registration deadline has passed and you wish to register for the trip, simply call our office. There are times where we may still be able to add another person to a vacation. Please note many of our vacations fill up prior to the registration deadline. It is always a good idea to plan ahead and register early for your vacation.

How are your vacations staffed?

Ventures Travel staffs vacations at a 1:4 ratio. This means we send one staff for each four travelers. Our staff are trained in CPR, First Aid, and other policies and procedures. Specialized staffing may be available for your vacation. Contact us for additional information.

Do you offer medication assistance on your vacations?

Ventures Travel offers medication administration assistance. Prior to all vacations, a nurse reviews each traveler's medications and creates a unique med card. Staff are trained in proper medication administration. Medications are stored in a safely locked box while on vacation.

Can my PCA or relative travel with me on my vacation?

Yes! Ventures Travel offers a reduced rate for personal care attendants or relatives who accompany a traveler on any vacation. To inquire more about this rate, please contact us.

What if I want to travel to a destination that is not on your schedule?

Ventures Travel offers custom vacation planning. Do you want to go to your class reunion, visit family in another state, or plan your dream vacation? We can customize a vacation for you, your friends or family. We offer staffing support, or you can bring your own companion along. We have several flexible options that can be designed to fit your needs.

Can I travel on your vacations if I use a wheelchair?

Yes. Ventures Travel trips can accommodate wheelchairs on some of our vacations. We request you call our office prior to registering for a vacation to inquire about availability.

Who typically uses your services?

  • Older teens and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • People with physical disabilities who rely on personal care and support
  • Family members who want to travel with a loved one who has special needs
  • Aging and maturing adults who need extra assistance

How have you made registration easier?

We now offer a Repeat Traveler Application in addition to our Standard Application. Travelers who filled out our Standard Application in the previous calendar year can now submit the shorter Repeat Traveler Application for the next calendar year. Plus, guardian signatures on all applications are valid for 24 months. We're creating easier ways to book the trips you love. If you are uncertain as to which application you need to complete, please call and speak with our registrar and they will be able to assist you!

Did your office re-locate?

Yes. We did some growing in 2012 and moved to a metro check-in office near Highway 55 and County Road 24 in Plymouth. The address is 3600 Holly Lane N #95, Plymouth, MN 55447. Registration and billing paperwork are still done in the Annandale office, 10509 108th St. NW, Annandale, MN 55302.

Is Ventures Travel connected to True Friends? Or Friendship Ventures?

Yes. True Friends is the parent company of Ventures Travel. Before the True Friends name was launched in 2013, Friendship Ventures was the parent company name. That name is no longer in use. In 2012, Courage Center Camps merged with our organization to create Camps of Courage & Friendship, an interim name used for one year. Today, True Friends provides camp, respite, programs and travel services to youth and adults with disabilities. To learn more see True Friends.
